Is there a way to center the pivot point (origin) of an object without moving the object?

Short of scripting, no, and it's mildly annoying. Actually I'd say that it's perhaps the second most annoying thing after not being able to work properly on multiple selections. (I love C3D, but it does have some problems.)
I thought I put in a wishlist item on this but I can't find it (BTW: if search were visible everywhere rather than only when you're at the top level of the forum, that would be great ... is this something that's easily fixed with vBulletin?)
