converting extruded spline to polygon

Hi,
I'm trying to complete what should be a simple task - I have extruded text and I want to convert it to polygons. Can you tell me how do I do it?

Simple I hope, but when I try it doesn't work.

Hi,
can do the following:

1. Select the "Extrude" object in the material browser.
2. Call the "Tools->Make Editable" menu command.

Alternatively you can just double click the icon of the "Extrude" object.

I want to do the opposite thing convert a polygon into a spline. Is this possible?

I think there's a poly2spline script somewhere on the forum, check out the scripts download section.

Thanks I have tried it, but have no idea how it works. I think its a little above my level
