SVG Import

SVG Import

Hey guys,

I am pretty excited getting into Cheetah3D and I hope you don't get upset for my first steps questions :)

What I want to try is to import a Flash Animation, which I exported correct to SVG (I can see it animated in the Browser), to Cheetah3D.

The import works, but the full animation is green and I can not play it.

Is there a tutorial where I can follow the steps to make the animation work in C3D and then export it to fbx?

Thanks,

Hi and Welcome!
Ooops - never heard of a Flash-import option of Cheetah3d. Where did you got that from?
File Formats

3D import:
.3ds
.dxf (quite limited yet)
.fbx
.lwo
.obj
.sia
.stl (binary and ASCII)
.jas (binary and ASCII)
3D export:
.3dmf
.3ds
.dae (Collada, iBooks Author compatible)
.dxf
.fbx
.h (C header files)
.obj
.mtl
.sia
.stl (binary and ASCII)
.jas (binary and ASCII)
2D import/export
Many common file formats (.jpg, .tiff, .png, .exr etc.)
Import SVG path data
Import PDF path data
Export to .hdr
Export to .epx
Movie export:
all QuickTime supported codecs
Other:
Copy & paste paths from EazyDraw to Cheetah3D
Copy & paste paths from Intaglio to Cheetah3D
Can you upload an example SVG animation file?

Cheers
Frank

I don´t think this is going to work. There is no animation data included Cheetah3d can find or work with - just a layer of splines. A morph-tag won´t work either, because of a massive change of topology. And point-animation won´t work either for the same reason. Can´t say if this is somehow scriptable - but I doubt it.
