orthogonal projection in EDITOR camera, how to?

orthogonal projection in EDITOR camera, how to?

The first image is a render of an artefact object in the spirit of M.C. Escher.
I had to position the camera with calculated values.
On the second image you can see how the editor shows the object.
It would be easier to work on this, if the editor used the camera projection setting "orthographic".
Possible?

I can understand why the panoramic camera doesn't preview very well but it is a bit strange (a bug, even) that orthographic cameras don't preview.

From popular ;) demand, here is a modified artifact with setting sun, radiosity, specular.

Cool, just as a noob question, am I right in guessing that this done with camera trickery and it cannot actually be modelled like this?

A very puzzled, but intrigued...

I was just about to ask whether I could edit a model using an orthographic projection. Even with the view set to "Camera" and the camera set to "orthographic", the editor viewport shows the scene in perspective.

I can render an orthographic view, but can I edit in one?
