Fade Out plane with blurred edges

Fade Out plane with blurred edges

I would like to make a rectangular plane with equally blurred edges on all sides and that I can change the transparency of.
I would like to be able to change from complete opacity to slightly being able to see through the plane to 0 opacity.

The closest I could get to making that was to use an altered version of Podperson's image from his Reflex O Matic.

I have attached a picture of the type of blur I would like on the edges and a jas file with my attempt to make such a rectangular plane.
Never-the-less my plane isn't capable of being semi transparent or completely fading out nor are all the edges equally blurred.

Thanks

:) Thanks for replying Frank and for the Alpha Image

I tried using Rene's Alpha-Fade Matt with your alpha image. It's the effect I would like but I don't understand how to make it White instead of Black.
I've attached another jas document.

Do you have any suggestions?

Thanks

:) Thanks again Frank

I don't know how to make such an image. I have a very old addition of photoshop elements that was given to me. Would I use a transparent background or do I do a white image on a white background? I suspect some of the filters in photoshop could produce such a blurred image?

I tried making such an image in Keynote with their shapes but failed.
I guess I'm lost.

Thanks again

Oh Dah! You attached such an image. Sorry. My old brain is a bit lame most of the time.
I see you have a white image on a grayish background.
Don't mean to get mushy but I really really do appreciate all your help.
This granny sends you a great big hug.
I'm getting close to finishing a project I've been working on for some time now.
I'm hoping to post it before the year is out.

It´s a simple shape filled with color and a gaussian blur filter applied - just make sure there´s an alpha channel and you´re saving to PNG with alpha-channel enabled.
Every vektor drawing app is capable doing this too.

Cheers

:D Oh! Our posts crossed in the mail.
Thanks for the specifics!
If it's ok I'll try to use your image. . .
and I'm going to try to recreate your image myself for learning practice.

Thanks again!

Tulip Version

:) I'm happy to say with your instructions I practiced making
a blurred image in my old photoshop elements and it worked.

I'm surprised it still works considering I received it free when
I purchased a pen tablet in 1998 and they don't offer updates
for their freebies.

I like the softer side of things so this will be of great use to me.

I've attached my Tulip file
Thanks
