Animate transparancy

Hi there.

I have tried to figure it out, but i cant.

Is it possible to animate transparancy.

I want an object (not texture) to be animated from 0 to 100% opac.

I think you can do this just with material, not without.
Is it a complex textured object?

Hmm, I gave an example of this a while back. It's not *generally* possible, but it is *specifically* possible (if that makes sense).

The other option is to render twice -- with and without the object visible -- and then animate the composition in post (you'll need a reasonably sophisticated video editor/compositor, such as Final Cut Pro, Premiere, Media Composer, After Effects, Motion, or Shake -- or QuickTime Pro).
