Help get me a smooth rendering

Help get me a smooth rendering

I have a cylinder with an 6-sided N-edge sweeping along a Helix and subtracting from the Cylinder in a Boolean oeration. I can't figure out how to make the subtraction really smooth into the surface of the cylinder... any thoughts?

I've uploaded my .jas file here. Thanks in advance.

Got a smooth render

I added sections longitudinally - from 30 to 60 - to the cylinder and increased the sections of the helix from 50 to 300.

Thanks to anyone who was starting to think about this one!

Hi,
I've increased the tesselation of the helix and the cylinder. Then you will get this.

Martin

Thanks for your input

Actually, it's good to see I was on the right track, and nice to see how you handled things... I'll increase the numbers as per your solution. Thanks!

Hi Greg,
this is the answer to your email. I still can't sent you emails. They always bounce back with an error message. I already had that problem with your email address some weeks ago.

That is a numerical problem. Moving the geometry slightly usually fixes that problem.

Bye,
Martin
