UV Mapping...

UV Mapping...

Yeah I searched the forum and it came up with some stuff.

But I want to texture some low-poly dino models I've made and can't seem to get the mapping right. I think it's to do with what seams I have but nothing seemed to work. :frown:

They're symmetrical (using the modifier) so a seam down the middle wouldn't do anything.
Is it seams? Do I have to manually do it? Should I use the UV Mapper?:confused::confused:

Attached is just all lines as seams, which works okay but would be hard to do texturing that way...

Hi,
you can use the UV unwrap too for that task of course. But for unwrapping you should't use a mesh with a symmetry modifier. So first double click on the dino mesh in the object bowser. That burns in all modifiers.

The resulting mesh can then be unwrapped. See also the Unwrap.jas example file or the unwrapping tutorials how to set the seams for a four legged animal.

Bye,
Martin
