I can't do symmetry

I can't do symmetry

The pivot just go away

Another question, whats different between creator -> Symmetry
and modifier -> symmetry

/Mee

While all modifiers are stored at the objects local position
the symmetry-creator will mirror at x,y,z=0 (and will work with parametric objects)
So when using the Symmetry-modifier you have to use editable meshes, select all geometry and move it to see the mirrored parts - in object mode you can then move back to the center axis (snapping to raster will help)

Not sure about "extrude-modifier". You´re talking about the extrude-creator? Want to toggle on/off or to make it permanent?
Either you can turn it off at the mode-icon or make it editable.
Hope this helps.

Hm, how to explain.
As you can see by the picture I am currently using "extrude" under "Tool"
I want the quit using that modifier but don't know how

I solved the symmetry question, didn't know I had to delete half the box

Just select the next tool you want to use.:D

I´d never start with a box to delete one half - but glad you figured it out how to.

Thanks Helmut, that was what I wanted to do
Than why not just asking?

Cheers
Frank

PS: and sorry to say: but from a workflow-point-of-view the deselecting step doesn´t make sense at all - as your next step pretty sure will be either transformation and/or selecting something again - so selecting the next tool seems the next logical step - at least to me.

+1 to Frank's suggestion.

I would move on to the next tool in your workflow.

I also recommend that you get a good set of keyboard shortcuts defined for yourself that you will easily remember.

In my case, I just press 'S' to get the basic select tool.
