Render history management

Render history management

I have used Cheetah fairly "light" over the past several months and I have accumulated 10GB of render history. I don't necessarily want to delete the history so I will probably just move it off to an external drive for safe keeping. Anyone have any other strategy that you like for managing the history of your renders?

In some cases, I just like to horde files but in others it's actually cool to go back and see a "flip book" of progress on a particular project. I know this is less Cheetah specific and more workflow preference but I imagine getting a lot more files to manage over time as I get more serious about my projects.

Without any other guidance, here is what I am considering:
1) a project folder structure to support multiple ongoing projects
2) a Mercurial or SVN repository to version control my Cheetah Projects (might use events to detect saves and automatically commit changes, not sure yet.)
3) an render history "sweep/mover" script (based on the plist) so that history can be organized with projects.
