Warping text

Warping text

I might be missing something here - is there a way to warp text? for example; make it bend around the diameter of a circle ?

Hi.
Let the "Wrap" modifier be your friend.
So create some text with the spline text tool. Put it into the "extrude" creator making some adjustments; depth, bevel bla bla. After that make it editable and let the "optimimizer" run through it (it will connect front&back polygons to the depth of the mesh).
Now call for the wrap modifier and throw it in the text extrude object. Make your adjustments at the modifier.
As an example have a look here: http://www.cheetah3d.com/forum/showpost.php?p=14641&postcount=14

With kindest regards
Frank

Edit: add a simple animation.

Sorry I dont get it - what is the "optimizer"

I cant find anything on the wrap or warp modifier other than a description of the parameters. Does anyone know where I can find some more :)

Thanks Morten

Hi Morten,
you´ll find the "optimize tool" in the main menu at "tools" or by right clicking in the 3d view being in point/edge or polygon mode.

With kindest regards
Frank
