skp. import?

skp. import?

Hello Martin!
Just downloaded the demo and have been playing around for a couple of hours. So far i am most impressed. One thing i am wondering about though. Looking through the forum I notice that a lot of people posting here are using sketchup together with C3D. Being a Sketchup user myself I wonder if you plan to add a import function for sketchup files, where the textures are imported with the model?

p.s. I'm attaching an image i made after playing with the software for about an hour. It's not much to look at, but I think it shows that the program is very easy to use for newbies 8)

p.p.s. Why do the edges of the boxes turn out so bad in the render?

Hi,
I currently have no plans to wite a .skp loader. Sorry. But it is already possible to load SketchUP scenes with textures into Cheetah3D. Just use the .3ds file format.

The next update of Cheetah3D will also offer a FBX loader and the new SketchUP 5.0 also offers FBX support. So FBX might become the best solution to move 3D scenes between SketchUp and Cheetah3D.
