Okay this is becoming annoying!

Okay this is becoming annoying!

Why, when I either open or import a DXF are there neither objects nor an error message alerting me that objects were not loaded?

What is the problem with materials and objects imported via STL binaries?

I have already spent a couple days on this one.

If it is a problem on Cheetah's side I suppose I can live with it for a bit. Though a work-around would be nice.

If it is a problem on TurboCAD3D's side I need to fire off another bug report.

...sluggy

Attached are two short files created by TurboCAD3D for y'all to hack at. I'm gonna eat a fresh oatmeal cookie then do something fun for a while.

Hi.
First for the good news. Your stl file loads quite well. Just doubleclick on it for opening with Cheetah3d. A "SLT file" (spelling?) appears, select and hit "focus camera"; here ya go.

DXF is a complete different story. I never was able at no point load a dxf file containing just lines -- and that goes for a whole bunch of 3d-apps. Carrara for example has an explicit file loader dialog for importing lines. (Blender is quite tolerant at loading dxf)

(My feeling is the loader could be improved. But I would never have used a CAD app for draw 4 lines :p - yes that´s just me - I know  )

With kindest regards
Frank

It's the same with DXFs imported from VectorWorks: any lines or unfilled polygons don't get imported. The workaround is to fill all your polys first...
