My first test modeling car

My first test modeling car

Hi !

Here's my first try to modeling a car... An Alfa Romeo Spider of 1932 :)

Blue print here : http://carblueprints.info

I haven't finished it, but i won't have a lot of time next days. I will finish later...

Can you make some criticisms please ?

Thank you

Christophe

Try building the car in pieces like a real car. As someone said on the forum years ago, don't try building from one single mesh when the object would never be built that way in real life. It will solve your problems with so many ring cuts.

Cheers,

Terry

That's a great tip Terry, I always think that when modelling anything. Would this be separate elements in real life? If it is/would be then that's the way I do it in 3D.

Yes !

Thank you very for this recommandation. I had not thought about that, and i think it could resolve some of troubles i had.

There is still a long way to go !

Looks great! My only suggestion s
o far, it looks like the hood is more rounded in the blueprint. Your's seems a bit squarer than it should be. Very cool choice. Those older cars from that era have much distinctive style.

Nice vehicle choice, the old cars are quite different from modern
models and require a different approach. Great start despite the
square hood shape. As Terry states, one piece is not necessary.
For example any doors you want to open must be separate.

Thank you for your comments !

So i will start again with separate elements and a hood more rounded...

Not a problem, modeling with Cheetah is a real pleasure.
