adding a texture to an imported model

adding a texture to an imported model

Why cannot I get the texture to show up in the imported model?

It works fine in the shape I create in Cheetah3d.

What am I doing wrong?

Any tips are appreciated.

Thanks!!!!

William,

Can you send me the file and the texture so I can take a look? Put them in a folder with the same hierarchy as they appear on your computer.

Have you tried reapplying the texture by relinking it on the materials menu?

What are you doing the original model in... ?

I find that in SU you need to group elements that have a material applied to them, as you can then re-apply the material in C3d if it does not come across properly...

or something like that... as I am at work without either SU or C3d in front of me so going by my fuzzy memory...

cheers

Hi,
you can scale a texture by using the "UV scale" properties of the Material tag. This setting in the Matrial tag works allways. If you either use already assigned UV coords or if you use a texture projection in the UVTag like spherical mapping.

But you can also use the "scale U" and "scale V" properties of the UV Tag. But these properties have only an effect during the assignment of UV coords. For example when you assign sperical UV coords.

Hope that helps.

Martin
