How do you select a bone?

How do you select a bone?

I have a bone rig I am trying to get into place but I can't seem to select the bone unless I find them in the object window one at a time this is a bit tedious, can't you just click with the transform tool on the end of the bone (little square vertice) I can't do this is there something I'm missing?

Spot on.

I'll add to that. You have to be in object mode to switch between any objects in the 3D view without using the object browser. You can even select folder/groups by clicking on the white dot in 3D view.

Of all the modes that is the one I did not try.... :redface:
