Problem with adding a material to a mesh

Problem with adding a material to a mesh

I have unmapped the body of the plain and exported the uv map to a pdf file and edited in photoshop .
Loaded the " .tiff " file to into a new material as colortexture .
When i add the material to the hull of the plane it won't do anything,I dont see the red and white squares that should surround the hull .
If i put the same material on the wing part ,it shows up (see screenshot)

Does anybody know what i am doing wrong ???
The uv map you see on the screenshot is the one of the (air)plain

I never did a zip file before ,after 15 years of pc i threw it out the door and bought a mac .
I only have it for a month now , is there a standard app in the mac for zipping .
>If i zip it do i have to include the texture file or is it included in the .jas file.

Thanks a lot

To zip: Select the files you want, then control-click and choose "create archive..." from the contextual menu - easy!

Yes please include the texture as well thanks.

Ok , here goes my first ever zipped file on a Mac ( i'm feeling proud  )

Thanks

Kenneth

Your rocket needs a UV map to tell it how to apply the texture (maybe there was one before but it has gone astray...).

I've used the UV mapper tool (with a cylindrical setting, and some scaling/moving) to line things up with your chequer pattern, and clicked 'write UV coords' to apply it to the mesh (see screenshot).

Does this help? Sorry I can't explain what went wrong with the old UV map, but I'm not very good with the UV-mapping thing...

(nice work with the zipping, by the way!)

Hi Kenneth.
Well done - and nice. I was hoping for that TinTin rocket while you come up with this bullet task this early afternoon. Glad I`m right.
Keep it up.:icon_thumbup:

With kindest regards
Frank

Indde ,you guessed right Frank ,TInTin is coming to the cheetah forums :)
Only hope that it will work out with camera, lightning and texture settings ??
