Double selection

Double selection

Hi,

I was doing the axe tutorial:

http://homepage.mac.com/camelio/ch_tutorial/ch_20060330_turaxb.mov

and I can't figure out something. In the beginning, after the author selects the two faces on each side, the other faces that are touching them are selected magically. (He's probably using a hotkey?) A double selection? I can do it manually, but I would like to know how to do it like in the video. Later, he unselects only the faces that appeared there magically while keeping his original selection. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Django

Most of the select features are preset hot keys but can be customised in the prefs. You can do all the usual stuff in C3D: area, group, expand and contract selections.

Hi Django.
Expanding a selection is:⌘, shift+X
Reducing a selection is: ⌘, shift+D
These are essential because you can´t often select a loop of an outer edge. So the quickest way is to make a ring select instead, hit "⌘, shift+X" once (leave your fingers on ⌘ and shift and then hit "D" 2 times. Voilá the outer edge loop is selected.
So better learn these default hotkeys.

With kindest regards
Frank

PS: Cheetah3d received explicit edge loop selection tools in the meantime.
