7 Dwarfs House Doorway

Dwarfs_House_Doorway.jpg

I haven't posted for some time so I thought I'd share this.

All modelled in Cheetah, rendered in C4D.

Fun to do

Hi Terry,

I love your style. Not only for this post.
Just wondering why you choose a different render engine as from my point of view, what you're saying may eventually implies that Cheetah3D can't do that ?

Thanks Francois. It's just my personal preference really. For a start anything that has fur/hair I go straight to Cinema. This scene has a doormat which is fur. I honestly never build anything in Cinema as I don't like the tools, they're too slow and clumsy, Cheetah is fast for modelling and has much more common sense. But instant mapping in Cinema I prefer. I see a lot of 3D artists bouncing from one program to the next to the next. I guess it's just what best suits you.

OK. Thanks Terry.

Wow, I hate to even think about how long it's been since I posted :(
I'm starting to get back to some modelling now, but I wanted to comment on your scene Terry--
Another great one! :icon_thumbup: :icon_thumbup:

Thanks Erin. Yes it's been a while since I've seen your name.

That's really nice, Terry! :D
One of the things I like about your work is that you exaggerate some details more then others, which almost makes it look like everything's tiny. :)

I have suggestion, which is to lower the bumpmap on a few objects, like the door. It's a bit distracting. Otherwise, I love it! :D

Thanks GS. Yep, just trying to make it obviously a cartoon.

The mapping/bumps didn't turn out as well as I wanted. But it wasn't a real job and I get to a point where enough is enough. If a client made any comments I'd correct them straight away. But for me, I just moved on to the next project which is this.

Once again ALL built in Cheetah, imported to Cinema as fbx for hair simulation. If only Cheetah had hair, I'm sure Martin could do it.

I would rather you stick to the first scene :p The rust on the lights/lamps was nice, but everything else in that scene was too clean, and untextured. Didn't quite fit well. I was going to suggest to dirty stuff up, add some dust, maybe cob-webs, etc.

I hate seeing nice models end up with poor texturing. Anyhow, I'm not good with characters, but may try to do more character work sometime later on this year.

If you are familiar with the story of Snow White she moves in and cleans the house. That's the point!!!!

Really nice Terry. Your cartoon style is awesome. I like the different faces in the wood up top also. :icon_thumbup: Cowboy looks great as well. How long did each frame take to render?
