Blueprint object

Blueprint object

Hi Martin, I think I found a bug in the blueprint object. The pictures I use are flipped. I try the flip radiobutton but that doesn't work for me. Can you help me?

Regards,

Peter

Hi,
I've seen that some blue prints show the left side of a car. The others show the right side. So make sure you've chosen the right side. If that isn't the problem please mail me the .jas file with the blueprints. Maybe I flipped something.

Flipping the blueprint in Photoshop should help out for the first.

Bye,
Martin

Martin thanks again. I put the side view on in the left mapping. But using a frontal view as a front map isn't really helping. You have to map the front view to the backmap of the blueprint for it to work. If I model a car in the front view I have to use the front jpg on the backmap. hmm. I don't know how to explain this easier.
Regards,

Peter

Hi,
have you tried the "flip" property of the blue print object. It should exactly do what you want.

Regards,
Martin

Yes I tried, but the flip button doesn't seem to work here.
I can send you the file with the maps?

Regards,

Peter

Hi,
please send me the file. I will have a look into it.

Bye,
Martin

How do ya...

Uh, about the Blueprint object. How does one invoke it? What does it take for an argument?

I've tried dropping in on objects, dropping objects on it ....

The beta update appears to lack documentation on this and a search of the forum revealed only this thread.

The blueprint object is found under the camera icon.
Now select the bitmaps for every side of the object.
Hope this helps.

Regards,

Peter

ps. Martin, I'm sending the files to you today.

I had no trouble locating the BP object. I am confused about how to apply it.

Is it an agrument to an object, like a Modifier?

Is an object an argument to it, like a Creator?

Is it applied to the camera, like a UV tag?

Does it have no argument, like Lighting?

Does it create a BP from an object? If so:

Is it an agrument to an object, like a Modifier?

Is an object an argument to it, like a Creator?

Is it applied to the camera, like a UV tag?

Does it have no argument, like Lighting?

Or does it accept planar graphics, like Material accepts texture?

It's a seperate object. It's basicly a cube to which you give the dimensions of your object you want to model (ie. a mobile crane or a car). And than you can attach the different technical drawings to each side so you can use these as a reference to model. I could post a "finished" blueprint object with maps, so you can see what it looks like?

Peter

I have the same problem as peer with my testing of the blueprint. Did you guys find out what was wrong! I have to put the front in the back and the left in the right. The flip item doesn`t seem to do anything!

This is really weird, I made this project on my Powermac G5 Quad, and the flip doesn`t work there, but when I opened it on my Macbook Pro, flip works like it should, so this seems to be a ppc version bug!

Martin, could you check this out?

Anyone else had this problem?
