Cheetah3D 3.2 Beta 4
Hi,
here is the fourth public beta of Cheetah3D 3.2. Hopefully the last.
This Beta adds the last big new feature of v3.2. Most of you probably already noticed that the .jas XML files generated by Cheetah3D can become extremely huge. Especially when you work with many objects or animation.
In the .jas file loader preferences you can now enable a binary save of the .jas file.
The binary files are much smaller than the XML files. For example
Pig.jas example file: 368 kB (old XML) -> 56 kB (new Binary)
Gyroskope example file: 448 kB (old XML) -> 48kB (new Binary)
The new binary files are not just smaller they also load faster.
Last but not least the new binary files can be even read by Cheetah3D 2.x so they are backward compatible.
A list of the other new features can be found here.
Download link:
http://cheetah3d.com/download/Cheetah3D3.2b4.dmg
But please be aware that this is beta software. So don't use it on irreplaceable and important data.
Please post all your experiences with this beta version in this forum thread.
Many thanks for your help.
