couple questions from a newbi about lights and rendering

Been playing with the demo for a few hours...
Wondering how to make spotlights visible in the air, as if there was some smoke, and how do you set the resolution and size of a rendered image?

So far this has been fun to learn and this forum is great!

Thanks!

Hi fffloyd

Welcome. To set the resolution, click on the Camera in the Object browser then scroll down to the Out Put section where resolution and render back ground color can be set.

Fairly new to C3D myself so I’m not quite sure if the lighting effect you require is possible yet. There is a Fog tag in the Tool Bar, but I have not been able to get that light pass through smoke special effect you referred to. Did experimented with Transparency and Reflection Material on a cone with some interesting effects though. I’m sure others will offer their assistance and possibly a work around.

Best regards,

Hi,
sorry but a spotlight can't create a visible light cone in a foggy environment yet. But I plan to add it into a future release.

irev, thanks for pointing me to the the render and resolution section.

Martin, I'll keep a look out for smoke. :0)

I'm playing around with stage sets and Cheetah seems to do everything I need and more from what I've seen in the gallery.

Thanks!

Floyd
