Hi ZOO...

Trying to work on this wheel creation, and I am not seeing the same result
as you have on your tutorial. When I perform the "Shell" (.01) I do not see the
polygon definitions (edges/lines) as you see on your screen...

Do I need to do something different?

Appreciate your help...

Hi Al, make it editable. I used the shell tool, not the Shell Modifier
which is non destructive, until you incorporate the new geometry.

I forgot to select ALL , then apply the Shell Tool.... Good now.

But, I downloaded Hiroto's Make Circle Script, and he shows placing it
in 'Library/Application Support/Cheetah3D/scripts/Tool' folder.
I can't find the "Cheetah3D" folder in the 'Application Support' folder...(?)
is it hidden, or do I need to create one???

Apple chose to hide it, hold the option key while in the Go menu
and select Library. You can't even search for stuff in there.

Bookmarking as one of my favorite threads.

Some cool automobiles.

Thanks jdmac, I've been meaning to come back and
finish what I started. I'm glad it's been helpful and fun.

Here's my latest vehicle, also unfinished.

I can't remember what method I used on this, but Franks
method is excellent, and Probably more efficient. :icon_thumbup:

If I can remember, we can have a jam session. (Just Another Method)

Anyone else with a method, please join in!

Maybe like so:
Start with a half of a 6x6 plane - triangulate - raise via soft selection - extrude - symmetry+array+wrap-modifier.
Frank - can you post your settings for the Warp modifier I can't reproduce that part.

This is an amazing thread - can't believe I missed this one way back when. Your stuff is incredible ZooHead. And all these tips!

Thanks for the mini-tutorial, Frank.
Here's my first shot.

Also, attached my settings for the Wrap modifier. Note, the settings may vary depending on the number of items in the array.

It is a very interesting thread. Thanks, Zoo, for describing, thanks jdmac for getting it out again (would have missed it otherwise).

And to Frank. Never would have thought of such a way to create a tire.
