Material Test Targets
Remember that discussion we had a while back about material demos and render test targets? I've made what I'll call "a little progress."
The room setup consists of six planes facing inward. The floor is a 25x25 grid with letters and numbers showing row and column; that method makes more sense than numbering them all from 0 to 624. The walls have a pattern showing a letter (Front, Back, Left, Right, Top) and arrows pointing to the sides and corners. I may yet substitute grids for those. You can see them reflected in the sphere, although perhaps I shouldn't have used a reflection blur in that demo. :frown:
I wanted to create a big trap zone with a light source between them, so I created two big disc-shapes and stuck an emissive torus in there. I'm code-naming that part of it "the birdbath." And I wish I could get more light out of the emitters and turn down the ambient.
That sphere on top needs work. I may yet borrow some tricks from the Maxwell Render target, but I want to work in some different zones.
Thoughts so far?
