C3D-->Maya = no UVs

Has anyone ever tried bringing a cheetah FBX into Maya? The UVs don't come through in both maya 2008 and 2010.

The attached screen shot is of the messed up UVs in maya.

also, is there any reason the UV sets have to get uniquely named per object? that really creates headaches for me.

The whole UVset1_097834092838383434 thing drives me nuts.
 
Maya requires that everything has unique names. Even a mesh and a material cant have the same name.
Cant help you with exporting problem, though. Never exported models that way. Sometimes i need Maya >> C3D.

I can only assume that the FBX SDKs are once again not compatible.:frown: The newer FBX SDKs have serious problems loading files created with older FBX SDKs and vice versa. I plan to upgrade to the latest FBX SDK in 5.2.

The unique names are necessary since FBX SDKs can crash when the names are not unique. I will check if that is still necessary when I upgrade to the latest FBX SDK. But for the moment unique names are a must have.

Thanks. Is there any way we can allow the user to disable the unique naming? I can get modo fbx files in without these Issues. and why cant collada carry 2 uv sets?
