Lava Shader

I tried creating a Lava Shader according to this tutorial.
http://tutorialscentral.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=24

I have to admit I don't know what I'm doing and it doesn't look right.

If anyone wants to try their hand at improving it or giving me a tip, that'd be super cool.

BTW... this starts with the Stucco Shader that Luke created from this post:

Hi murcielago!
another variation on Luke's stucco shader... the colors are almost there but the shape is still out of (my) control (i'd imagine a grainy dark grey terrain with craps where the lava comes out...) I tried to play with voronoi textures but without luck...

i'd try to link marble's "color" to emissive channel to enhance your shader (and maybe change that yellow-ish to a more red color?)

cheers,
A

Nice material setting... and with a little help from PhotoShop will look like this.

I don´t think you need PS for that - just add a (orange) color node to "color 0" and crank up its intensity.

Thanks Alessandro.
Here´s one last before I got my fingers burnt.
(I had to shrink the animation till I got acceptable attachement size.)

Cheers

Hi Frank, how did you get the glow on the floor on that render? Thanks!

With the help of the radiosity tag and a high emissive color node.
File attached.

Cheers
