Picking colors question?

Picking colors question?

Here is the question: I'm in Cheetah and have a texture I created for something. I want to make another texture in Gimp but have the same color. How can I pick with the colorpicker in Cheetah and then get the same color in Gimp? Hope you get my drift here. I can be vague at times. Is there some software or some mac thing that does this that I am blissfully unaware of?

There´s an utility that comes with OSX: DigitalColor Meter Utility. Run it (RGB, 8-Bit) pick your color and hit ⌘+L to freeze the selection. Back in GIMP type the RGB values in. To release selection hit ⌘+L again.

I also discovered in Gimp if you use the colorize tool it keeps a list of the settings then you can open another file and use the colorize list to match the color.
