5.02 & 5.03 Update clarification/questions

I have 5.0 installed - no problems with registration. However, I did uninstall and re-install it at least once on the same machine - though it is my understanding this will not count among my 5 activations.

When I use the check for update feature, however, 5.0 fails to find the updates and informs me I am already using the latest version.

But I see from the forums and web site that there is already a version 5.0.3. A previous post by Martin says the first two updates only fix registration issues, which some people seem to have been experiencing. And that if you did not have these issues, there is no need to update.

But this recent forum post claims 5.0.3 does fix other issues, such as a bug using the subdivision modifer.

Additionally, there are no release notes on the Cheetah 3d website to reference.

So - what are the changes to the 5.0.2 and 5.0.3 updates, and why won't my version 5.0 find them?

there were some problems with registration on some Mac configurations. I tried to fix these problems as soon as possible which resulted in these micro updates. If registration worked fine on your mac there is no need to download these updates. They only fix two other minor bugs (the ball bug and the .sia UV shift bug).

Thanks Martin. But what about the application not finding the updates when I select the check for updates option? Is that just because 5.0.2 & 5.0.3 are minor?

Registration issue 10.6

Hi

Hope this is the correct thread. Similar problem.

Changed machine to 10.6. Used Apple's firewire cloning app to transfer settings, apps etc from old G5 to new intel machine.
Cheetah 5.1.1 asked for registration number, which I entered and it then went to the server. A stickup "license expired" halted installation.

As per the license I have Cheetah 5.1.1 installed on one other local machine, and that copy remains registered? I did have issues when v5 was released, so possibly did some uninstalls and reinstalls then.

I have tried a number of uninstalls and reinstalls on the 10.6 machine. Any ideas please?
