Symmetry for multiple Objects

Hey, I started with a glassy chair and have 3 different objects which create 50% of it.
But now, I want to mirror the whole thing to finish, but I don't want to copy and paste the whole thing, since I don't want to redo everything if I add changes to one half.
Is there a way to apply symmetry to multiple objects?

the easiest way I have found is to use the import children command under tools... so that all objects are essentially residing in one mesh container that has a symmetry tag. Its very similar to how I would do it in modo.

Not sure I fully got your objective but how about using smart folders for the objects ?

@ nervouschimp: How do I use it?
@Francois: I want to flip multiple objects which are rowed in the x-axis in the yz-plane so they have equal distances to each other.

See the difference between the 2. In Symmetry.1, C/C/P objects (eg your 3 objects) have been imported into Box (see help file for Symmetry and Import Children). If you change 1 of the C/C/P objects, make another "box"(eg 1 poly) and move C/C/P objects to it and reimport childrens.
