Barely illuminated + Radiosity = Duh.

I made this for the Monster challenge, and I am quite happy with it considering this is my first entry.
However, at the beginning, I had a slight point light, which made the whole thing look creepier. But to add realism, I added a Radiosity tag.
This made the whole thing look better, but now the model is 200% more illuminated and I can't figure our how to get back to that shady looking.
Any ideas?

Is your radiosity tag switched to radiosity or (by default) ambient occlusion.

AO normalizes the scene's lighting, which brightens up dark scenes. (In fact it will let you render scenes with no light whatsoever.)
