Hi,
sorry but Cheetah3D doesn't offer wire frame rendering yet. Just in the 3D view using OpenGL.

Hello:

Does the latest version of C3D render to wireframe?

Thank you,
Terry

I don't think so, you could always use the poly to spline script (http://www.cheetah3d.de/forum/showthread.php?t=2743) and then attach a sweep modifier. This should be a fairly easy work around depending on how complex the mesh is.

Thanks for the quick reply. I'l give it a try.

My illustration is very simple -- 5 vertical planes (and a ground plane for shadows) arranged in a cascading stagger with shadows and a hint of perspective. I'll bring the render into Photoshop in able to distort Web site screenshots in place of the planes. The wire frames would have allowed me to easily use Pshop's Vanishing Point function for accurate perspective alignment.

Take care,
Terry

Thanks Frank. Your technique seems like an elegant solution.

And I agree with you, this topic does appear to be pretty popular in the forums. I did indeed search for "wire frame" and "wireframe" and read a lot of posts that offered workarounds. However, after seeing this older thread dated in 2005, I was following up in the hopes that C3D had incorporated rendering to wireframe.

Take care,
Terry
